Story – The Last Of The McCartney Money

The year is 2190. The scene is at Lloyds Banking Group’s main office, on Moon Colony “London.”

We are in James Evan’s, the CEO’s office. Present are his assistant, and the client, Michelle McCartney, the great-great-great-great granddaughter of Sir Paul McCartney.

Mr. Evans: “Ms. McCartney, a pleasure to finally meet you. We have prepared the documents and only require your signature to officially close the account. It was originally opened in 1964, 226 years ago.”

He pushed the papers across the desk and Michelle signed and dated them. He handed her a £1,000 bill.

She stood up and said “Thank you for your assistance.”

Mr. Evans: “You do know this was the last of it. Sir Paul McCartney’s money.”

Michelle: “Yes, I do. I guess I should have been born much earlier.”

She bid them a good day and left.
