Story – The Blue Platoon

The soldiers of Blue Platoon sat in a foxhole. It was actually a huge crater created by one of the enemy’s bombs.

Some of the soldiers were crying like children, some were shaking uncontrollably. Most had wet themselves. They had just retreated. It wasn’t a strategic retreat where soldiers run backwards and empty their weapons. It had the look of frightened rats racing from a burning building.

They had never seen creatures like these or the types of weapons they wielded.

Hell on earth was being unleashed before them.

The Blue Platoon Leader was leaning against the far end of the crater-fox-hole. He looked at the pathetic excuse for men crying and shaking before him.

He began to slowly walk and as he did he yelled.

Any soldier that isn’t standing at attention in this next second will have a bullet in his head compliments of me.

Look at me YOU MAGGOTS!!! We have a job to do. We have Americans to protect. That is why you are here.

In the next 30 seconds we are going to engage the enemy as American soldiers have done for centuries. Your cowardice mocks the brave men whose shoulders you stand upon.

Most of you are about to die for our great country, the greatest honor ever given to any man.

When I get home I am going to find each of your fathers and punch them square in the face for raising such spineless worthless little girls instead of men.

On my count we are going up and out and we are engaging the enemy. Anyone trailing behind will be shot, as you are only a liability to the rest of the platoon.
